Default Her First Bowhunt

We'll I decided to take my 4 yr old out for a bow hunt saturday evening. I set up a ground blind and brushed it in near the edge of the foodplot and had hopes of her seeing some deer and maybe taking a doe. Well she had a good time and enjoyed watching the squirrels and birds and was amazed how close they came to us. But about an hr into the hunt she was sitting in my lap and fell sound asleep, so I wrapped her up in my coat and layed her on the ground, I figured, we'll at least we'll be quite for a little while , sure enough about 40 min later here come 2 does, perfectly broadside at 15yrds, I was pumped ready to take one. Only one problem... I couldnt wake my daughter up, haha, she was out like a trout and I couldnt get her up, we'll the does were concerned about the blind and moved outta bow range and then back into the woods before I could get my daughter up... Oh well... She had fun, and I promised her next time I wont let her fall asleep..

Here is a pic: (and trust me, the pink camo worked like a charm)

Great story, as the father of a 4 month old little girl I can only pray for a day like you had.

I took mine out about that age twice. She is now 18 and I don't think she has been out since.

It's just not her thing. The mall is more to her liking.

Yea, the wife was at a baby shower for my sister so I had babysitting duties, I figured it would be fun... It was really laid back, We left at like 545, and she is quite the motormouth, but she was good a whispering, and really enjoyed seeing all the animals... I'm not sure I'll have her out again this year, maybe if I take her goose hunting she'd like that cause she could eat donuts all morning
