Default Finally!! Some meat in the freezer! BDD

If you had told me it would be nearly the 3rd week of October before I had shot a deer, I would have taken that bet. My season started September 1st. The first 2 weeks I could only shoot bucks, and of course, I was covered in does. One disappointment after another. My frustration had definitely kicked in. A couple of weeks ago, I put my cousin on his first deer with his bow (or any weapon for that matter). That was great to be there for.

Back to the farm this past Saturday. We got in the woods around 10:30 am for the rest of the day. No action due to really high wind. We got down around 2pm to run to the truck to eat some lunch. Back in the tree at 3pm. Around 6 pm I hear my cousin shoot and deer run off. He missed a chip shot...buck fever on a doe! He text me that he was shaking like a leaf. Around 6:30 I spot deer off to my right. I used my binos to see the 4 slickheads feeding on acorns. After what seemed like an eternity the largest one fed to within about 12-15 yards. Thwack!! Complete pass thru and my arrow buried 6-7 inches in the ground. I'm very happy with my Bowtech Commander. It performed flawlessly on its first shot at a live animal. She made it about 50 yards and piled up within15 yards ofmy cousin. Needless to say I'm a much happier hunter than I was before this weekend. The monkey is off my back and I've got meat in the freezer! The pic isn't the greatest b/c I was having some camera issues.

NC,
Looks like you smoked her. Good to see another SC hunter among the ranks.
