Default I hate squirels, turkey, porcupines and chipmunks

That is all I saw this afternoon. The woods was like corn flakes... real dry leaves. My stinkin' neck is so stiff from craning all around me from the tree stand. I mean every few minutes the woodswas leaves crunchin' and I wish I could rotate my head 180 degrees.I had 15 turkeys about 100 yards away but could not see them for an hour and finally here they come. Squirrels were everywhere, red and gray and stupid chipmunks, too... grrrr! Not one deer.

I love seeing all of the wildlife when I'm on my stand, but I know what you mean. When you don't see deer for a while, it can make you jumpy and you can end up pulling a neck muscle. Funny thing is, though, when you actually do hear a deer, somehow you KNOW it's a deer without even looking.

I always tell myself that as long as the other critters are playing and going on with their life a deer may walk through cause there is no panic in the woods.

I feel your pain but you have NO IDEA!! [:-]
I was hunting a small woodlot with "twildasin" over the weekend that has never been hunted and also has an over abundance of nut trees.

I could only see about 20 yards in small windows in anay direction and I kid you not there were times when I could SEE 12 squirrels without turning around in my stand![:@][]
They were EVERYWHERE !
Up my tree over my head, dropping nut shavings on my hat, looking like they were going to jump on my face and tear my throat out.......if squirrels were dangerous I would have stayed in the truck.

At one point I had 3 of them sitting in a line on a limb eye level with me 5yds away taking apart walnuts. It was munch, munhc, munch, munch, munch for like 10 minutes and I couldn't hear myself think. It was like Chinese water torture.

I bet there were 2 dozen squirrels within bow range at any one time.
I would have KILLED to have a ruger 10/22 with a silencer and about 100rds of ammo.
