I am running and gunning for evening hunt, if I got a SW wind, I think I can kill that SOB. I will never kill the SOB with the wind coming out of the EAST. This is exactly what happen last year

I could not agree more!!! It's been a N/NE wind for the last 2 days here in Pa as well, and it really sucks!Thursday we had a SW wind which was PERFECT for my regular stand. I can work with anything but N and NE winds. Monday is supposed to be SW, we'll see.

that East wind kills alot of us....i know i USED to plan stand sites with East winds being a NEVER...our weather just doesnt typically do that....atleast i didnt think it did...till the last 2 years ive been watching wind....and the last 2 years i been scrambling for East wind setups....
what i do now is just try to keep my wind out of the areas i think the deer will come from...and where i anticipate them being when they are in my setup...and hope YOUR scentlok and my scent control measures work...
had a 2.5yo and 1.5yo buck absolutely down wind from 10-100yds+ out...i wasnt very high..when they got up the small saddle i was in, we were practically level(25yds away or so) they also BOTH crossed the trail i walked in on THREE times that day, morning in and out and in the evening...it was WARM that day and i was sweating buckets...i thought FOR SURE they would nail me....especially when they crossed my trail...neither flinched or lifted a tail....wind was PERFECT for my setup....i never take into consideration of "what if i dont shoot" and they get by me....i dont wanna spook ANY deer ANY time from my setups...i feel alerting 1 deer to my presence hurts my future chances of grand dad walkin through my setup....
