Who's busted a buck out of his bedroom?

Not sure....but the buck I'm after "might" have been "home" yesterday when i got set up for the afternoon hunt....and only heard me and not seen me.

I heard "something" making a BIG fuss over in the thicket. It didn't "bolt"......walk out leisurely....or run away, either. It acted pissed.

Could have been an Uber-squirrel, I guess.....but it sure sounded like something more substantial.

For the most part one does not know if they busted a mature buck out of his bed. I have done it on the river, I have been within 15 yds of them and if I did not see them, I sure the hell would have not heard them.

I think we've ALL done it at some point or another. In 2-3 weeksyou will be thefurthest thing from his mind.

Yes i have. several years ago me and Dalton were walking in a patch of stickers boardered with cattails and a sapling grove. We started finding a line of Big rubs on the saplings. I just started to say we better back out and the cattails exploded

This guy broke out of them like a bucking bronco. He had laid there watching us the whole time and let us get to with in 12 yards before breaking out. The deed was already done so i checked out his bed and found where he had lain. There were about 5-6 small salpings around his bed that he had rubbed while laying there.

I ended up killing him in thefire arm season (that i dont do no much of anymore) got him a 1/4 mile away.

Nice buck! It is amazing how close they let you get to 'em.

I busted a nice nice mature buck last year bedded 10 yards from my stand.It's a sick feeling for sure!! [:'(]He was camped out facing towards the mock scrape I had made... Guess he wanted to figure out who was intruding on his area.

Interesting cause I had hunted that stand in the morning and left around 10. Went into work and came out for an evening hunt, so he must have snuck in mid-day sometime.....

I did see him later in the season again....

Man, which time??? That's the truth too!! 10 years or so ago It didn't matter what I did I was spooking bucks where I didn't think they were bedding when walking In. I've seen a few that I know were 160" bucks 20 yards from me running like hell. It's very disturbing!![:@]

I learned allot though from them experiences. Time of year was the biggest thing I learned. Bucks do change there bedding areas up when the rut closes In. I now stay the hell out of them same areas all year, including during the season.
