Just curious...it seems as if the makers of all the new bows such as Hoyt, Mathews, Diamond, Bowtech, PSE, Darton, etc...have there own little arms race which rivals the cold war...it always seems like there is something new "that you must have" in their ads in the hunting mags..I am looking at getting a new bow....how long do you usually use your bow for before you get something new?

i started out with a entry/mid level bow, and hunted with it to see if i would like bowhunting. i quickly realized that i loved the sport, and two years later i bought my bowtech, which in my opinion is all i will need. once i find something i like i stick with it, i prob wont change for a long time.
I find what I like, what works, and I stick with it.
No need to pay for mark-up, inflation, etc. when I can shoot my old beast just as well at 50yds as the new guys, and it drops deer just as hard.
i started out with an older pse carroll intruder this year, and it only took shooting one deer to realize i was hooked on bowhunting. a week later i had a mathews dxt. i love this bow and don't see myself changing in the next few years

My bow is a 2000 model, but I have been thinking of upgrading next year. I really like that DXT.

I shot my first bow (a Darton) for 5 years, it was old when I got it and one day it just gave up the ghost. Since then, I used a High Country bow for two years, after that I got a Bear bow that I used for one year, and now I've got a PSE that I've used for two years and I'm about to get rid of it.
I've never found another bow that shot as smooth or fit me as well as my old Darton did.
