I've read that before, and it is an amazing story. That is one thind that keeps me out of the mountains for hunting. Everyone I talk to says you very seldom see bears, but I don't want to be that 1%.[]

There are a lot of comments left by the readers that make me sick. There are some really good ones though too.

Crazy story with a good ending! Must have been hard to make a good shot with your kid being attacked. Great poise!

Correct me if I am wrong but if a bear is hunting for food(which it seems this one was doing)playing dead will just get you eaten.

If a bear see's you as a threat and you play dead, then you are no longer a threat and the bear will leave.

That would be a tough judgement call to make in the wild with a grizzly 15 feet away.
