I bought my 11 year old son a Diamond Edge. Nice bow with lots of adjustment room.

Thanks guys that does look like a sweet bow, but........ not to sound like a cheap ars, but we are on a short budget, and I just dont think we can go out and spend that kind of change right away, matter of fact, I KNOW we cant, are there any other ones out there that are not quite as expensive? Another thing that we have to take into concideration, is the fact that we are not sure if we should get him a right handed bow, or just go with the left handed. I have another post on here about him having problems with him being able to close his one eye. Long story short, is, he is right handed, but because of his problems with his eyes, we are either going to have to teach him to shoot left handed, or to shoot with both eyes open.

My first bow was a PSE Nova. Cheap bow but it got the job done! Low poundage on it and could be easily adjusted. I shoot a Hoyt now, but about the eye thing... I have been shooting with both of my eyes open for over 2 years now, and just can not go back to the one eye closed thing. You can see the flight of the arrow and the animal you are shooting at. I would recomend teaching him to shoot with both eyes open. Its easy and a goodskill to learn. For a new bow hunter, good habits are key and easy to teach for someonewho has not aquired bad habits already.

U can get a Browning Micro Midas III for around.....$270 set up. And if you're REALLY lucky, you can find a used one. They have 10 full inches of DL adjustment, and are available in 30 and 40 pound models. And, they're IBO rated 270, which is pretty incredible given what it is. We sell the livin crap out of them during the spring for the 4H shooters. The only draw back to them is the DL is only adjustable 1" at a time, no 1/2" increment.

The browning micro midas 3 isnt a bad setup. One can be had without accessories for 200$ or around 270 set up.

got my grandson a Parker Sidekick, he loves it.
Parker and Diamond have the grow with the bow program, as they grow and the draw length and draw weight go up all you do is send the bow back to them with $50.00, and they will set it up with the next step up in limbs.
That way they can keep the same bow for years.
