Default If it aint a dog shotguner or person runin tru the woods hollerin 4 no aparent reason 2 ruin ur hunt

it'sthat ol'pesky HELICOPTER

flying literally 20 feet above the tree tops and making your tree sway left and right. Then to top it off, it hovered and circled around no more than 3/4 of a mile away for 20 minutes. Just when I thought I'd seen it all.

Yea early this season, about 3 hunts in a row I've had low flying planes or traffic choppers come buzzing right over my head. Plus one spot I hunt is right near train tracks and that is some serious noise too. Actually spooked some deer down my way one night.

One tract of public land I hunt borders the Interstate and I actually think it's a bit of advantage. One it does help cover some noise, not much - but every little bit helps. Two, the lights from vehicles driving by means I don't really need my flashlight all that much when I'm walking out at night

I had a chopper come in low this evening myself..... anybody seen the movie "Goodfellas?"

Actually gave me a good moment to blow my nose... still clearing out the end of a sinus infection.... then I proceeded to miss the doe about thirty minutes later!

Once I was shotgun hunting from the ground in upstate NY when a chopper hovered right over me for a while. Eventually I waved at the pilot and he took off. I was pretty torqued, didn't see any movement at all that day. When I got home, a story came on the local news about 2 kids that got lost in the same WMA while deer hunting. It was December and COLD. They walked into the woodswearing justsneakers the previous day and never made it home. They did walk out of the woods that day with a bit of frostbite but otherwise okay.

I never have that problem....I hunt 100 acres of private land 100 miles from the nearest airport. The weather is always perfect and no noise except my thoughts. Then I wake up and realize I am sitting within 100 yrds of 4 other guys that I don't know and there are planes and people all over the place making all kinds of noise......I need to find some private land.
