Default Feeder Battery Question

I have just started using a feeder and have the 6 volt 5ampRechargeable Spring top batterys so I had the battery in for about a month and it was still working when I took it out to charge it my question is how long should I charge it I know I dont need to charge it the full time because it's not dead I checked it with a digital Multimeter on VDC 20 and it says it's showing 6 volts how long do you thinkIshould charge it I dont want to overcharge it says not to on the package in big letters Also is there any way to check how much battery life is left so you know how long to charge it Thanks

The instructions I have for those batteries is minimum 15 hours and maximum 24 hours. If you put it on for 15 or 16 you should be fine.

Why not just get a solar charger for it then you wont have to worry about taking it out to charge.

Down the road I will probably get the solar power but this year is the first time using a feeder want to make shure it's worth it first.

Hey on batterys watch out for amps and volts. A battery could be near dear and still show 6v u need to check the amps still in it. Just get a charger that has charge lights, RED YELLOW GREEN and it will shut off when its green. $8.96 at walmart. Good luck

A solar panel will only extend the life of the battery. You still have to take it out and charge it from time to time. My batteries instructions say to charge it for no longer than 24 hours. I never wait for the battery to completely drain itself before i charge it for another 24 hours and have had zero problems for over a year now.
