Default Did you buy that elk hunt story...
where a gal claims to have missed her 1st shot at a bugled in elk sept 1(elk weren't even responding to calls or bugling during daylight hours in SW NM in that area this year as I was there for 14 days and also talked with other bowhunters in the area), claims to have been offered another shot at the elk after she misses and this time says she shot it through the heart, when the shot is plain as a day through the shoulder? The arrows in the pic are too long for her 25" draw length and she also is only able to pull back a 40-42# bow. I can't say how I know all of this stuff...but I know and I also know that mostly everything that comes out of her mouth is a lie. Just curious if you all thought it was phoney. I didn't buy the story and any of us that know her didn't either. Also she shows pics of arrows she has made in another thread for this supposed hunt, prior to the dead elk pic, and these arrows are not in her quiver with the dead elk. The success rate for archery elk is low, especially on a mature bull like she claims to have shot. Yet, a novice like her claims 1st day success and acts like you just whistle at them and they run in like a dog. LOL...Have a gr8 day you all.

Hunting success rates posted on another forum for archery elk this year:
View Poll Results: Did you get your elk?
No elk this year...just tag soup and no excuses! 43 32.58%
Bull elk taken on OTC tag 30 22.73%
Bull elk taken on draw tag 19 14.39%
Cow elk taken 8 6.06%
Late rut did me in, no elk, no bugling, no weather, and a lot of other excuses..... 25 18.94%
No elk and it's all Campo's fault! 7 5.30%

I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume that you're talking about Sarah's bull she posted back in September?

Isn't it kind of ridiculous to drag someone through the mud like that?

I can understand what hes saying though when you see a shot to a deer on the shoulder and then they claim to have hit the heart. its weird. but the other stuff draw length and weight, thats crazy 45lbs well placed with the right arrow and broadhead will take down a grizzly.
