First had some bad fortune last week and injured my left shoulder somehow, I am waiting to see if it clears and may eventually have to cave in and go to the DR, this plays into the weekend, because I could hardly pull either commander back, been shooting 65-66lbs all year.
Had Fri scheduled off and wanted to get in the woods bad, I picked up a katera xl Wednesday afternoon and set it on 53-54lbs and was able to shoot it enough to sight it in 20 and 30 yards
Got up early Fri am, about 30 minutes after daylight a yearling doe was easing through in front of the stand.. I center punched her with a jakhammer- went 5yards and collasped - no pic of this one -
Fri afternoon -seen a large bodied deer , could not see his head but assumed it was a buck.. Investigated the tree he was near the next afternoon two fresh scrapes and a fresh rub
Saturday morning ... dawned cool and clear , shortly after daylight 2 does and a large cowhorn were passing through, the largest doe of the group was directly in front of my tree, shot her at 4 yards and she ran 75 yards
Saturday afternoon - saw another large doe but just outta range
been a great start to the 08 season and thinning the does out
here is the large doe from Sat
