Almost had the biggest doe I have seen in a long time yesterday morning. I have been seeing her since this summer out in the fields and said If I ever get a chance to take that pig shes as good as dead. Well yesterday morning while sitting in a new ladderstand that I just placed out lastweek I heard some commotion from the north. I had two smaller does run full bore past me and they stopped in the brush looking north, behind them, Im thinking its way too early for a buck to be chasing does. Im looking around and thats when I saw it. A coyote chasing deer. I was hoping the yote would come in for a shot, as I was watchign the yote, Im also seeing another deer run right towards me, something told me this was a nice buck, it stopped about 50 yards to the north east of me. I took a quick look and noticed it was thebig doe I was seeing all summer. This cow has to be pushing close to 200 lbs. Shes a plain out monster of a doe. She starts snorting and I thought that she had picked me out, I was wrong. I look over to my left and see the yote going through the brush to the south of me. The yote did a complete circle and got on the trail of the big doe, and she bolted. Now I usually carry my 44 with me on bow hunts incase of bears or coyotes but I havent been at all this year as the bear have disapeared from our area. Now does anyone think that this pesty yote is going to chase this doe off and out of our property or do you think that she will return to her home range once things settle down. I have no doubts that this little bugger is not capable of taking a deer of this magnatude down. The biggest doe taken off our property was back in 1997 by my cousin mike, dressed out at 213lbs, the second biggest was by me wich dressed out at 210, we called her scar. For some reason the does get bigger than the bucks on our property, maybe its because we let too many of them walk????
If they keep getting threatened by the yote I think they will move to a more peaceful area. Deer will stay where they have everything they need and not threatened. I think coyotestravel around more where they have more food. More like rabbits. I think if its by its self it wont take down a full grown deer but if there is more than one I believethey will. I think they pray more on the smaller fawns and yearling's. I hate them dam things. I will shoot everyone I see. good luck getting that doe.

Hah?? 200lb doe's dressed out? Wow, hard to believe.
As for the yote thing I think she will be back in there. She won't be taken by one of them like you said.

I would say you nailed it. I'm quite the opposite, we saw a deer all summer in our food plots and mineral stations that we are going to let live. I know, I know I am a softy.
But reason being she must gets the best nutrition available. She hammers our food plots, protein pellets and minerals and beds about 50 yards from all of them during the summer. I can't take a deer that's rearing her fawns with that good of nutrition. Plus she has an awfully pretty white streak down her nose.
Actually had her at 18 yards broadside on Saturday.
200lbs is not hard to believe in our area, it doesnt happen offten but it does. I will see If I can find the pictures and post them tonight. When we register our deer we have them weighed on a state inspected scale at the registration station.
here are the two I got back in 06. The 8 pointer dressed out at 220 the doe if i remember right was around190, id have to look back.the 8 pointer was the biggest boddied deer ever taken off the farm.
