Default gas mileage

hey guys i trade my truck again for the second time in month.
I traded the 85 Chevy i had in on a good running 1995 Chevy z71 1/2 ton. It has a 350 engine and is 4x4. with a long bed and a huge 34 gallon fuel tank. What can i expect to get out of a gallon of gas. I was thinking 10mpg but i have had a few guys tell me anything from 13to 18 which i find 18 hard to believe. The truck runs real good just wondering how far i can expect to drive on that 34 gallons.

Probably around 13-14 City, and 17-18 highway.

that's what I get in my 04 F-150.

Tim, I have a 94 ext cab with the short bed. I average around 13. I drive a good mix of highway and in town.

I have the Z71 with 5.7 350, 6ft bed and extended cab. I get 350-375 miles from a tank (25 gallons). 14 mpg.

Bull crap... that subaru with the real, full time AWD will go places a ranger wouldn't....especially when it comes to snow and ice..... only problem is ground clearance.... my girlfriends mother has a Baja... ugly as sin... but we take it out on the beach down in Hattaras and it carries all four of us and all our crap and it floats over that super deep sand like a boat on water.... and we drive around all the big huge 350s and 3500s with mud tires sunk to the axels! And you can put a lot of stuff in the back of one of those outbacks... I like'em... I just don't think it would weigh enough to stop my boat. Her Baja gets crappy gas mileage though... full time AWD does take a toll... I think 24mpg is about as good as you could ever hope for out of one.

A lot of the mileage you will get out of that Z71 will depend on the tire tread you put on it, and the way that you drive, and the roads you drive on. Driving 55 on an open two or four lane state road will get you MUCH MUCH better mileage than driving 70 on the freeway.
