Default Filled the Freezer

Well folks, I finally made it out for my first hunt of the season this monring. Our season here in IL opened up on Wed. but due to work I just couldn't find time to get out. I was running a tad behind this morning and by the time I had got to my stand and set up, shooting light was upon me.

No sooner than I pulled my bow up, I heard movement behind me. It was two doe. The bigger of the two jumped the fence line I am hunting and gave me a 15 yrd quartering away shot. Luckily, the slick trick found its spot and about 50yrds later I had a nanny on the ground. I was in my stand a total of five minutes this morning. I guess some days it just works out. I'll be eating some tasty backstraps later this evening.

I love sitting in the woods as much as the next man, but I'd much rather sit for 5 minutes every time like that! congrats!

Congrats. Nothing finer than bacon wrapped back straps with fajita seasoning! Mmmmmmm. Now I know I'll be in the stand this evening!
