This past weekend I was out deer hunting and in the late morning, I had a coyote pop out. I took it at 25 yards and the shot looked good but when I got down to get find it I couldn't find any blood. The coyote ran off with the arrow still in it. and it was jabbed about 3/4 the through him. Would the arrow block any blood from leaving the coyote?

What should I do?
This past weekend? You should've been out looking long before now bud. He's probably dead somewhere, go find him.

I shot the coyote last weekend and we did look for it for about 2-3 hours. I just didn't get to the post fast enough.
there is a corn field just a little ways from where I shot and I was thinking he ran that way. But there was no blood so it was nearly impossible to find him.
between the arrow and the fur, it would be hard to find blood...if any reached the ground...that fur is definently going to kill the trail though....
i betcha if you knew what you were smellin for you coulda smelled your way to him....remember any "skunk" or stinky smells??
That is a great idea but the problem is we have this badger that is in that same area (in fact I saw him just 10 feet away from where I shot this coyote) and it smells really bad because of the badger.
I shot it then it ran though some brush and left a few things of hair behind then I saw it disappear near this little stream. I got over there and there was some fresh coyote tracks leading right up the stream but I lost them about half way. there was no smell.
