Default Question on tuning my bow.

I know that your suppost to paper tune your bow but that is the only form of tuning I have heard of. I shoot 85 grain Montecs. I have never had my bow paper tuned or any other sort of tuning done to it. I did infact by it used from another guy and I do think that he tuned it in some way. I just have never paper tuned my bow with my montecs on it. I didshoot them and they seem to shoot high. Is this somtin I can do at home or do I need to take it to an archery shop? The bow im shooting isa Mathews Switchback.

Thanks Kash

I personally prefer a walk-back tune, then I throw BH's on and fine tune everything. Here's a good link to BH tuning.... http://www.archerytalk.com/vb/showthread.php?t=539460

Default RE: Question on tuning my bow.

Before you do any tuning on your bow you should make sure that your arrow's static spine is real close to what you need for that particular bow, your particular draw length and the draw weight you are gonna shoot at. Then the dynamic spine can be manipulated by adjusting the arrow length, front weight and back weightbut you need to have an idea of what you need before you start.

You can paper tune, BH tune, bareshaft tune, group tune, walkback tune andfrench tune but if you start out with the wrong spined arrow all you are doing is adjusting your bow from optimum centershot to something that accomodates auntuned arrow.
