Default deer haning question... urgent!

well my brother shot his first deertonight. my question is is it ok if it hangs overnight?? its supposed to get to a low of 40 tonight. its 59 degrees right now. will the meat be ok?? i thought i would ask this in this forum because this gets the most people.

yep i hung one in similar temps last year....through the day, night, and next day...i did skin it...hung the hide and head off the deck beside the carcass(gutted)...meat was fine and cape held fine...also was in the shade as well....

No problem! Mine laid in the back of my truck last night, I probed the meat this am just for a goof and it was 46 deg.

I hope that if you hung it in a garage you at least skinned it. I made that mistake once and there where ticks everywhere on the floor.

In warmer temps if I can't butcher the deer till the next day I leave it in the back of the truck with 2 five lb ice bags in the cativity, one up in the chest , the other between the hind quarters. This insures chilling and makes for a firm cutting of the meat.
