Default Learned the scary way....

Well I went out hunting this past sunday morning and nothing was going my way ever since I woke up. I was just having some bad luck. Well happens to be when I get to my stand that morningI realize that the string on my stand to pull my bow up is gone. SoI was going to try and climb my stand with my bow in hand. The stand is not a ladder stand either I had mostly tree spikes except one wooden step I screwed to the tree because I had ran out of steps while haning it.

So I start to climb the tree and once I get about 2 ft. from my stand I reach up to grab the wooden step and it pulls off the tree. Down I fall to the ground and luckily I landed on my feet and buckled my knees to break the fall. The fall didnt seriously injure me just alittle pain for a while after the fall. Now I know never to use another wooden step in my life.

Read this thread.

Then stay out of trees hunting until you get a vest.
