Default Bleat Calls

I have a brand new bleat call that I have never used. Ive never used a bleat call period, generally use grunt calls and the growl, the reason I have not tried this call yet is becasue it seems overly loud, is this normal for bleat calls? Id like to use it but afraid it may be too loud. I know they are supposed to work well and have heard some great success stories from thoes who have used bleat calls. Any help or pointers woudl be greatly appreciated.

Ever heard a fawn in distress? If it is loud and sounds like a wailing baby, that is what you want.

From experience any deer distress call is pretty loud, I'd say go ahead and give it a shot, I wouldn't worry about it unless it scares away the deer, however, you might want to watch about using it when deer are close, as they might pinpoint you in the tree. Thats what i love about bowhunting you can always be learning and making yourself a better hunter.

I bought a fawn bleat, I think it's a Knight and Hale, and that dude is real loud, I was kind of worried about it myself. If I muffle it with my hands it helps.

It'll cut the wind all right, I'm worried I might call in more waterfowl with that thing than I do deer though [:-]
