Default Worst case of deceiving eyes

I went out for for an evening hunt last night for what I thought would be a perfect hunt. Wind was the best I could ask for, and my cameras showed alot of bucks in the area. Well, didn't see a deer. But, I had the worst case of seeing things that were not there. I thought I'd see a deer face. Nope, corn leaf. See a rack. Nope, 4 taller weeds behind a tree. All night it was like that and even more during the last half hour. Am I the only one who suffers from this or anyone elses eyes play tricks on them?

I do it also but usually in the early AM, a clump of weeds or a branch that is low. It is anticipation we want so bad for there to be a deer there we actually manifest them with our imagination LOL

I know the feeling. Not so much with a bow but with a rifle I have had the crosshairs on a stump or something for hours. I could even count points on the stump and guess the live weight.

I could have swore I was looking at a big Ten one morning but when I got my hands on it I realized it was a stubby Five.[8D]

How unsafe, what if it were human? That is what binoculars are for!

Happens to me all the time. That's why I normally try to look for white moving, then it's almost a definite deer sighting..
