Default How do I hunt this guy?

I had a decent buck coming to the beans every time we got a west wind. I found out by placing a gamecam....that he was entering from the NW. No one is hunting the adjacent property this season (to the west).

I saw him this morning....as depicted.

Where would you set up to hunt this guy? They're on the acorns, now....and the woodlot I'll show you has a BUNCH of them.

He was entering the fields in the evening.....and I saw him where I have shown, this morning.

Sure I can.....and I will when the rut comes...OR the first time I get a West wind, before then. I think it'll be a good scouting sit.

But there's no reason for him to go to those woods. He has everything he needs in the upper woodlots.

i meant cause you have a arrow saying "trail to bean field" i thought you were saying that is the trail the deer is using. if so, i was saying set up between that orange dot and his entrance to the field to intercept him.

He's obviously bedding to the west....and he's off the beans. Most all of the deer, here, are.

He was entering that fied from the NW. I know that. Where he's going in the evenings, now....I don't know....but his cycle, today, had him coming "home" from the N.

They feel REALLY protected in that woodlot. I'm the only one hunting them, there....and I haven't had a wind to hunt there......except one day.

This NNE stuff has GOT to stop!....lol

Are the pink dots all sightings of the buck, and can you hunt that woodlot? I'm thinking since you have seen him coming from the nw and the they are on the acorns I might would try a set on the southeast side of a hot acorn tree assuming you have a west nw wind, espeacilly the moring when he will most probably not be in the bean field. Now for a evening hunt with the west wind that finger at the trail coming into the field looks good.

No Rob....that's what made me realize he WASN'T entering from the South. That's where I had my cam set up. I got a couple smaller bucks.....set up on the southern entrance. Nothing of him.
