Seemed as if I was a lone voice in trying to convince merchants on the idea that it hurts sales. People who don't mind it wont notice if it's not there and those that do wont buy the product. Why turn off a segment of your market.

An intelligent company understands the concept. Bowtech I believe is in that class! Great advertisers! Martin on the other hand makes great bows but has had a terrible advertising campaign for years with the owners daughter prominently displayed, look at their impact in the industry. I personally couldn't trust a company like that because of their lack of integrity.

If I want that kind of advertising I'll buy that kind of publication. I buy hunting mags for hunting and those ad's in the back make me feel as if, I'm being hunted. Old bucks no better than to follow empty solicitations or waste their money on them.

I hope the trend continues and the quality and creativity mags once had will return and continue to expand. The increase in integritycan only benifit the companys who advertise in them.

Martin Girl.........

You may not like their ads, but I can say that the current Martin Girl, Laura Francese is a real deal archer, and verrrry nice to boot!

She is no doubt an excellent ambassador for the sport!

Here is a copy of an e-mail I sent to Outdoor Life & Field and Stream:

I am so glad thatOutdoor Lifedecided to run all those male enhancement ads. Now when I go fishing all I need to bring is a reel. I attach it to "that certain part of my male anatomy" and i'm good to go. Another "huge" advantage is my girlfriend is suddenly "longs" to go fishing with me!!! Unfortunately Idont think it is appropriate for children or iseven topic related. If these types of ads continue you will "increasingly inch" me to cancel my subscription. Please "extend" some courtesy to yourreaders with children.

The ads have continued but my subscriptions haven't. I never recieved a reply from eithor publication.

i have noticed that there are fewer adult oriented ads in mags these days. this has forced me to shell out more $$$ for a subscription to PLAYBOY!! LOL j/k. in all honesty i never did like ads for viagra or maxiderm. i understand their marketing angle, but i just want the articles.

as for Martin Girl Laura Francese...NOT SO HOT!!! i have seen her in person and she's not as good looking as her glam shots make her out to be. most guys at the event were just walking by her booth, she kept asking ppl if they wanted an autographed pic but they all walked by. kinda sad, i felt a little bad for her but my girlfriend was with me so and said we couldn't take her home w/ us.

Effective that's for sure.

The ads have stopped in the last couple months. I heard something on the radio that mentioned one of these companies was sued. I think some politician sued them because it didn't work. LOL
