Default Single Pin Movers for hunting

I had a guy give me a Range Rover or some such for some work I did for him. I just mainly wanted it for shooting in the yard whenever I'm feeling "olympic" and decide to shoot from 80 yards. The more I played with it, the more I liked it, and I had dang near decided to hunt with it until tonight. I'd been out shooting last week at 60 yards... didn't bother to even look at the sight as I stood at 20 yards to take a warm up shot and flung my arrow over the target and into the abyss of briars behind the fence. I'm sure there are lots of people that do it with success... but I'm frankly too scatter brained for it. Thank God I was playing with Tracer nocks too.... because it made that arrow pretty dang easy to find.

I've got enough to remember already when making a shot... I don't know about having to move my pin as well.

Anybody use these things? I know Vabowmen has one... and granted we kill deer at like 12 yards anyway... but has this happened to anyone else?

I believe he's talking about the sights where there's a slider that you move to whichever yardage you want.

haha ok. gotcha

that seems like a pain in the a**

i use 1 pin, directly in the center of my sight circle. i practice with it everyday so i know exactly how high/low to shoot at diff yardages.

I use a single pin adjustable sight with a slider. I limit myself to 30 yard shots and keep the pin set at 25. I know to hold a bit highor low depending on the range. At least I don't have to be sure to pick out the right pin when its crunch time.

Well, if you're that scatter brained......How do you manage to pick the correct pin?

All I ever need is the top one. It doesn't move. If the deer is far enough away that I need anything other than the top one.... then I've got time to think about it. Besides they are color coordinated... and its a lot easier to make an adjustment from 20 pin to 30 pin than it is to try and move a slider at full draw... unless you have one of those Impact sights... no thanks.

I like the idea of the single pin.... but forgetting to move that thing, or hell even check it in a relaxed setting like the yard.... makes me nervous.... know thy self....
