First kill-
Story- 1st day of rifle season on my first year out and I was set-up with my dad on the edge of a gaswell road when this buck stepped out of a golden rod field in front of me. A shot from my .25-06 brought the 8 point down.
First bowkill-
Shooting a 60# 30" Browning Mirage Hunter dual cam bow, some cheap wal-mart Easton arrows tipped with Thunderheads. I was set up about 5 yards off the back of my landowners backyard overlooking a picnic table which was to the side of their pavillion. The acorn crop was great and there were several large white oaks in front of me. As the sun started setting close to the horizion this doe walked out of a bedding area around 80 yards to my right and walked right to the falling acorns in front of me. She gave me about a 15 yard hard quartering away shot and I put the arrow behind the ribcage which exited behind the front shoulder. The doe ran straight away from me and fell in a swamp about 70 yards in front of me.
