Default will the rage let me down tomarrow?

will 2 blade Rages shoot the same as a 100grain field tip? this is my first year shooting anything but fixed broadheads. i got my field tips shooting very TIGHT groups at 10-40 yds. im going into a spot tomarrow afternoon that im about 90% positive im going to have a few shooters come my way. judging by my timestamps on the camera. will i be in for a suprise when i go to shoot the rage? its got me pretty worried that all the practice from all summer long just to make sure im ready to take on this buck and dont mess up, that something will happen cause it seems to year after year. i got my stuff together this year, everything is planned out...i know his route and hes there every afternoon at 5pm where my stand will be. IF i get to let a arrow fly will these rage broadheads fly like the fieldpoints ive been shooting?

i have also been doing alot of shooting out of treestands and off the roof of the shop just to get a better feel for shooting at a angle

The flying straight and all that is good, but I'd be worried about what happens next. I've heard mixed reviews on these heads, I've never used themso I can't "bash", but it would worry me.

Unfotunately, No one nor you can know. Quite possibly with a perfectly tuned bow you just might hit in the same place but in this case you have no way of knowing since you have not shot with your broadhead.
IMO.. BIG MISTAKE

The first time you get an answer to your question should NOT be after you release your arrow at an animal...

Basic preparation INCLUDES shooting the head that you will use to hopefully take an animal with, ensuring that you have your setup tuned and performing optimally. This is why we get the "I hit one, but can't find him" threads.

See above.

well i did shoot one of them but it was the fieldpoint tip that they send in the pack. it did shoot the same but how does that mean the real thing will shoot the same? would it hurt to shoot one of them into a target?

Have you not practiced with the broadhead yet [&:]? They come with a practice head. Yeah, they're advertised to fly like firld tips, but you need to see how they perform with your bow, your setup.

I've heard the practice heads fly the same as the real deal... I don't think it would hurt to know for sure. Confidence goes a long way in this sport.

Just a tip, too... just because you can get a field point or a mech to hit where you're aiming does NOT mean your bow is in tune; I'd suggest visiting the tech forum and reading through a couple of the threads pinned to the top there. You may not have time now before tomorrow's opener, but it may be well worth your time over the next week or so...

If you DO choose to shoot a real Rage into a target, ensure the blades are still shaving-sharp before using them again by either removing them and sharpening them, or by replacing them (probably the best option, it sounds like).

As far as Rages and their effectiveness goes... I've seen first-hand the damage they do on both whitetails and elk. The elk I helped field dress last week (or the week before last now) was sliced open much like the pictures everyone's so fond of showing on whitetails, and the head remained perfectly intact even though it lodged in the off-side shoulder joint. The animal ran 120 yards or so and went down quickly (remember, an elk can cover a LOT of ground very quickly).

If you have shot the practice head and were happy with the results then you'll be happy with the results of the real head. Don't doubt yourself or the time you have put in this summer....you'll be very pleased with the rage heads...wait till you see the bloodtrail.

they fly the same! And you will not have a problem as long as you make the shot!

sounds good. i did have my bow tuned at a bow shop and they got it perfect. i guess what got me worried is when i tried to climb on top of the shop yesturday i had already been shooting for about 30min and was tired, then climbing up there was alot of work and that made me even more tired. whats the chances that i was too tired to hold my shot steady? this was with a real broadhead but not a rage. it went in a diffrent spot of the target every time
