Default What should a bowhunter be allowed to carry for self-defense?

Simple, what should a bowhunter be allowed to carry in the woods, while bowhuntingfor self-defense?

Check all that apply:

1. Bow and Knife only.

2. Bow, Knife & Pepper Spray

3. Snub-nosed handgun

4. Long-barreled multi-round pistol

5. Single-Shotsub-6" MOA Hunting pistol.

6. Standard Deer Rifle

7. Tactical Rifle

8. Semi-Auto Rifle

9. Fully Automatic Weapons

10. You should be able to bowhunt with anything you damn well please.

Where do you draw the line, and why?

A snub nose is all most people would need in the woods for protection. To protect yourself from people it would do the trick, most critters as well.

Where I hunt I don't feel the need to pack anything for self defense.

Quick what am I defending myself from?

Meth heads in Iowa?
Bears in Canada?
Elusive 3.5 deer in your hunting area?

You'll be defending yourself from me if you keep it up. I'll come at you like a spider-monkey old man. [>:][>:][>:]

Doesn't really matter to me what I'm allowed to carry. I won't let some lines on a piece of paper stop me from protecting myself if I feel the need to do so.

Defense from what?? I feel safer in the deer woods than I do on the street. I know guys who carry in the woods but they are basically afraid of the dark. Bears?? The only ones I have seen were heading the other way as fast as they could go.
I do believe I would carry if mountain lions or grizzly bears were a threat but east of the old miss the boogy man is the only thing I fear. BOO.....
Like I don't lug enough crap..

That's a tough one. I think if an archer were allowed to carry a firearm into the woods, the temptation to shoot that buck that's JUST out of bow range with the firearm would be great......In MO, we are not allowed to carry a firearm of any type into the woods while bow hunting, and that's a law I agree with. But at the same time, we have the God given right to protect ourselves, so what do you do.......
