Default how should i go about this

ok i took my brothers girlfriends brother fishing. A dnr guy was doing fish checks for size and health. He told me to go check out a local strip pit said it is good for bank fishing.
When we got there i noticed a clearing with trees spotted through it and around the water. Well he came down to the strip pit and we got talking he said he would see two does everyday and a buck every so often he said the does where the biggest he had ever seen.
Thing is there one of two ways to get there. By boat which i have or by walking through 1 mile of swamp and hills.

I thought i could dropp the boat in and go scout it out or just set up my pop up and hunt it.

With it being sept. season started oct 1st. should i go in scout it all out and go into the woods and everything
or since it is so close to season just set up on the field in the pop up and hope they come out there

First you should find out who owns the land and get permission. Im sure you already know that though. As far as getting there i would think by water would be MUCH more silent then tredging through a mile of swamp.

I'd go with the boat. much less work. you can load your deer in there. remember, mile in ,mile out dragging.

it is on public state forest land and the area is about 3 or 4000 acres but there is not much of it open to hunting so no one knows about it or hunts it. kind of a hidden jem.
Would it be ok to scout this late.

in a perfect world you would have wanted to scout it earlier but if it is secluded and nobody is hunting it then now is better then never. I would look at arial photos (google earth) and try to find obvious choke points to get started. If there is no hunting pressure then it could turn out well. Good luck

Definitley boat.
I just found a similar spot along a river and there are more deer back by the river .They won't hesitate to jump in the water and swim if threatened.

I'd say just shoot them with a gun, then swim out there and fetch 'em. Why make things so complicated?
