Default Clear Cuts

has anyone ever hunted fresh clear cuts with good results ??
Ther is an area I hunt that is slated for clear cutting and I have never hunted one,
but was wondering if their worth huntingthe first year or is it better to wait the following year when new growth begins.
Thanks

I love hunting clearcuts the 2nd year. They provide a ton of brows and cover. I like setting up on the edge of the clearcut.

Depends on when the trees were cut, but I think the second year allows for things to calm down and deer become more comfortable in their new environment. IMHO

Clearcuts are awesome hunting. You'll see alot of deer on them the first year, but not as many bucks. The second and third year of a clearcut are incredible. Big bucks will walk them during broad daylight. If I can make a suggestion, it would be to go ahead and pick you out a place for a small food plot for next year. Put it 20 to 30 yards out in the cut and when it grows up around it, they will feed on it and feel secure....a true "honey hole".

I had one on my property and noticed the 2nd and 3rd year were the best. By that time the grass has had time to grow up and the deer seem to feel safe and concealed.
