Default Troubles with broadhead flight

I was shooting my bow this evening, as i do most evenings, and was shooting very well. Coke can size groups at 40 yds. So I threw on a new broadhead that i just purchased to get ready for the season. I bought the NAP HellRazor 100 gr. because i talked to a guy at the local archery shop, and he said they were awsome, so i bought them.
Now, to my problem. I shoot the Easton Epic 400's,with 2" blazer vanes. Now when i shot the broadhead, my arrow just kept flying upward and to the left. It was horrible. It wasnt even close to where I was aiming. Now i know a fixed blade broadhead isnt going to fly exactly like a field point, so what do i do? Do I need to sight in my bow according to where my broadheads are hitting? Any imput is greatly appreciated.

Broadheads CAN fly exactly like field points or with your field points out of a well tuned bow with matched arrows.

Broadheads can and do let you know either your bow isn't properly tuned, your arrows are not spined correctly or some other issue.

You said up and left, how far up and left?

Try the same head in another arrow and see if it's hitting the same place. Check all your arrows. If they all hit the same place, you can sight into them but there may be more to it.

I shoot epic 400 with 2" quickspins and a 100gr muzzy. I rotate my broadheads through all my arrows to match them up with a combination that flys great, ALTHOUGH, even my bad ones are only like 4" off. If your WAY off you may have issues other then your broadheads. They should fly very close if not identical to field tips.

It is like 6 inches high and about 4 inches left. But what really gets me is that it shot pretty decent from 30 yrds. today was the fist time i shot at 40 and was very unimpressed. But from 30 yrds, its only about an inch high. I shot several times at 40, and was hitting about the same spot every time.

Rob is right on. I used to think that Broadheads could not fly like field points, but this is the first time that I have ever had a bow tuned properly. I can shoot my slick tricks, Muzzy, and even a Rage just like a field point. I did yesterday. If your bow is tuned, and I mean tuned perfectly, you can shoot almost any head you want given that the spine of your arrow is correct. Some heads may fly differently according to quality, but the heads I listed are of good quality and there are others out there. Check the spine and check to see if your bow is tuned.

What Rob said. In a well tuned bow any reasonable broadhead will fly great. Len in Md has manufacturers send him broadheads all the time to get an OK Stamp. They know he shoots a lot of deer every year. It's not uncommon for him to have 4 or 5 different types of broadheads in his quiver ona hunt. He'll end up shooting deer with all of them during the year. They all fly very true as long as the weight is close.

I also am having trouble with the hellrazor broadhead. I have a hoyt kobalt and my field points as well as mechanical tips shoot exactly the same. However when I put the hell razor on the same arrow's or any other arrows it drops about 6 inches at 35 yards. I am new to archery so if anyone has any tips on tuning bows or what I should do that would be great.
