Default Fixed Blade or Expandables...

I'm toying with the idea of switching from fixed (G5 Montec) to an expandable. I have never shot expandables before. I hear they shoot staighter?? (T or F, i don't know..) How do you practice with them...do they pull out of the Block with ease or can you mess up the blades... I really don't know anything about them...any input would be appreciated...

Thnx, Jeff

Jeff,
It's personal preference, I have shot mechanicals since the mid 90's but the guy's that took me in and got me started all shot that particular head and that's all I've known. I have never had any issue's with that head therefore I have never had to think of switching.
They do pull out of a target fine, I use someold one's that have already earned their keep to practice with and keep the new ones for hunting.
One thing I would strongly suggest is check your KE and make sure you have good KE for an expandable, if you have good KE and your bow is tuned you should have no major differences between fixed and mechanical (depending on the head you use). Not all Broad Heads are created equal (fixed or mechanical)

I'm a big believer in Murphy's law, so I stick to fixed blades. Just my .02
