DTs thread has got me thinkinga bit (which is painful I'll admit) How far are you willing to go to stop a poacher(s)? What tactics have you done or currently utilize to keep trespassers/poachers off your land?I don't see a right or wrong answer with this one, and this is not meant to stir the pot - but rather an idea board for others to see.

A cell phone and a camera are all you need, we pay taxes to pay cops to deal with morons.
I'm not one to take physical threats lightly ,if you touch me on my landone of uswill leave via ambulance. And as a betting man I'm betting its gonna be you.

This is what I wanted to see. Some real honesty!

I'll have a camera and cell phonewith me on stand each hunt this fall. That oughta do it (as far as how far I'll go). I have a wife and a child, though....and if threatened I'll think of them, first.

Another very honest post, very nice.

I figure at my age I'm not going to around that much longer anyways.
i always keep my phone on me along with my video camera. but just as others have said. if your on my land and threaten me or my family you gonna find yourself at the bottom of the abandoned coal mine on my property where noone will find you.
If I didn't live two hours away from my hunting grounds I would randomly stop and check for those S.O.B.'s. Before work, lunch breaks, after work... it doesn't matter. We've had a few over the last two years at the camp. Severaly hundred posted signs on 200 acres and gates. You think it would be enough? Nope... they just drive through the wire gate. Can't wait till we get a 3" steel tube gate with cameras all around.
As far as me in the stand, same thing applies as rob and GMAT, camera phone, license plate picture, and a call to the appropriate authorities. Happens again? Maybe he'll "accidentally" driver over a nail or two.
