I have always used the can, and my grunt tube right from the start of the season, but this year I am going to try and not do any calling until late October.

I like the fawn in distress call. I don't call much during early season - but when I do that is the one I often will try.

fawn in distress seems to work really well if you want a doe.

Yes, I have never seen a response equal to the fawn bleat for a doe.

Soft grunts and and contact calls, however only upon seeing the deer, otherwise I sit tight. Deer vocalize year around, why wouldn't we call to them?

I assume that's the reason many voted, no calls (sighting deer) otherwise I don't understand not using a call when you see a deer and it's not going to be in range.

Leave them DAMNED calls in PA in 2 weeks. Dammit!....lol

Or.......I'll have you placed so far away from where I think a deer might actually come out.....that you're as likely to get hit by a city bus as you are to see a squirrel.

Thats it. You and Matt will hunt together. Ya'll can call 'em 'til your lungs blow. I'm gonna kill a deer.
