Default 40# draw, cut on contact or rage?

my lady can only draw 40#s and I am wondering if because of the the light foot pounds on impact if she should shoot a cut on contact rather than a mechanical like the Rage?

40# draw and a 2'' diameter head are not a match.

The youth I hunt with killed two does last year with thunderhead 100 easily shooting 40# on a youth bow. He didn't aim for the neck!
