Mapquest Type in ur location as the destination and then select Aerial view. This is what I have always used to see pics of my land

how do you get google earth to show you the ridges and velleys?

Flip it to topo view I believe--it will then show contour lines...top right hand side of the screen.

Join the Mossyoak website forum. Their mapping system is pretty decent and can do Aerial/Topo overlays which is super handy

On google earth, you can use the control feature in the top right corner to tilt the terrain making topograhy three dimmensional.
