I remember a few years ago there was a post about making cat whisker string silencer form a "ball" when they were on the string. Anyone remember the instructions? I'm using silicone spinnerbait skirts so they wont dry rot or come apart, so I dont want to try an experiment on a $5 set of whiskers.

Is this what you're looking for. And you don't need the super glue. Just a couple good knots back and forth from one side to the other a couple times. I'm not sure if your spinnerette skirts will work the same. When you stretch each end of the whisker and snip it you get the ball.
