Default Leaving to hunt bear in ME in the morning...

Man, I am pumped. This is the first time I've ever bear hunted and I'm doing it with a bow. We are going up and meeting a great couple that we met over the Internet and have been planning the hunt with ever since. They are some great folks and have worked their butts off helping keep the baits stocked that we put out a few weeks ago. We had been getting some good activity on the trail cams, but it seems to have shut down a bitthis week. I'm not too worried because as soon as the food source they are on now runs out they'll be back on the baits. Better this week to get cold than next week when we are hunting.

Anyway, I'm pretty stoked. I won't be posting too much next week, but hopefully I'll have some pictures to put up before the week is out.

Wish me luck.

They'll hopefully be back Bry. Natural food is by far a bears 1st priority over bait. This has nothing to do with you Bry but Its funny how some people think that baiting bear automatically turns into 100% success. Its not even close to being the case! Shooting a doe/fawn/young buck without bait is much easier and consistent.

Good luck Bry on the bear hunt. Its exciting as heck!! I was bear baiting last weekend. I put out 13 baits, 10 of which have trail cams on. I can't wait to head on up tonight to check the baits this weekend that we put out last weekend.

dmen, we are going to southern Maine. The folks we have met up there live in Porter, but I'm not exactly sure what the area we are hunting is called.

CCPa, will do. I hope to bring back a great story, although a nice short story with a happy ending with suit me fine too.

Kyle, LOL. I'm not above using any legal means possible to take game. Since I've never done this before I need all the help I can get.
