One tip I did learn that I can pass on in way of advice before you begin...

When you epoxy in the back half of the nock onto the battery post as the "stop"... stand it upright so the epoxy can't run down that slick steel battery casing and glue your top part to it, which will keep you from being able to turn it on and off.

Other than that one thing, everything has been flawless so far. I screwed one up that way, but the other one came out perfect. For all the rest, I'll just let them dry overnight standing straight up and there's no way that can happen again.

Does it bother anyone to drill holes in nocks? Thisconcentrates stress on the limited amount of nock material remaining after drilling the hole.

Is there any other piece of structural-critical archery gearin whichyou would drill holes at home? I think not!

I did one with the hole, and one without. The one without was almost as bright as the one without. I don't think the hole is needed.

That makes the idea a lot more appealing (to me).

Not sure. I've drilled holes in all the ones I've made so far, and they work perfectly. The nock is REALLY thick right there, so I don't think it's doing anything to the structural integrity of the nock.

But... I think it would still be pretty visible without the hole.

I was shooting with them again last night RIGHT at dark... these things are so cool; I can't believe I waited this long to either build or buy some. I need to shoot some video of the flying at dusk... but I've got to get to work on my next colum so I can churn it out by tomorrow night, head to the St. Louis Cabela's to work their Great Outdoors event over the weekend for BowTech, and then we head out Wednesday for Colorado... so I don't see it happening.

I don't drill mine. I have made some that work in ACC's. I won't hunt without them now that Kansas says they are not illegal.
