Default painting my stand any tips

i had read where alot of you guys said to give a ladder stand a camo paint shop to break the look up.

I bought two shades of camo paint both differnt then the stand color one dark brown almost brown. and kahki.

How should i shade the camo look should i just run line of each color or spray them over to fade them into each other.

What do you guys do any pic would be great .

I just hit my Summit climber with flat black and light brown in spots and slashes. Just to break the green up a bit.

With only 2 colors spray the Majority of the frame with the darker color in pretty good sized sections but not the entire stand. Go about 1/2 and 1/2 with the factory stand color.
Then break off a branch with some interesting leaves or some thick blades of grass to use as a stencil. Spray the stencil against the frame with the light color letting it fade out to the edges to give the effect of some depth and when you remove the stencil you'll have the "leaves" show up as the darker pattern against a lighter background.

Just mess around with it........you really can't screw up camo'ing a stand.

I wouldn't do it now, I'd wait until next February to give it many months to air out.

Paint smells for a long time!

If you have bare spots with metal showing use primer. But do not use primer as the outer coat. Use flat paint. I ussually jut use a flat black, grey, olive or a combo.

i wish i had pics of my stands...i just did 2 hang ons and my Viper before last season...i used a brown(real brown) a khaki and a OD Green...i think i used the green as my base(matched the stand colors the closest) and then had at it with brown and kahki...that kahki color is real important...think of open camo patterns and why it works.....once i hung one and looked at it i knew more kahki would be better...its mostly kahki and some brown and green...but that kahki really helps...
