Not sure how many of you have F&S, but if you check out the latest issue, turn to the poll section on Pg.66. Basically in a nutshell, they polled various guides across the U.S/Canada on various topics like gear, tactics, client behavior, etc. There's a few results that left me a bit puzzled and a little entertained. A few examples:
"What's the best bow make for whitetails?"
Matthews - 51% <---Why?
BowTech - 8%
Hoyt - 8%
PSE - 5%
Fred Bear - 3%
Other - 3%
No preference- 23%
"What state do the best whitetail deer hunters come from?"
New York - 10%
New Jersey - 7% Pennsylvania - 7% <--- What the? We're some of the best, AND some of the worst supposedly.
Lousiana - 7%
An interesting quote from one of the guides:
"Mechanical broadheads - 80 percent of lost animals have been with these."
I was suprised by many of the results, as many of them contradicted what you read here. If you don't get the magazine, pick it up in a store and brief through the poll section.
I take zero stock in anything Field and Stream publishes. That has got to be the worst outdoor magazine available. The last one I perused was 70% advertising, gee I wonder who might advertise in there.

The advertising is a bit much, but I do enjoy some of their articles, and their photography is excellent. This one was a bit absurd, however. Well at least portions of it.
