Default base layers

what do you recomend for base layers to be comfortable and warm while hunting ( don't turn this into a scent debate
we have enough of that already ).

i usuallu use some sort of compression fit top and bottom. light weight for late fall and heavier as it gets colder.

I use the under armor cold gear, kind of pricy but i think it works pretty good. Much better then cotten because it wicks sweat away from your skin, if you get sweated up wearing cotten you get cold and wet real fast

I use Under Armour too. I'm thinking about getting the leggings this year too. The Cold Gear face mask is awesome when it is cold and windy!

Under Armour is awesome stuff, I have used the cold gear for several seasons. The only problem that I have found is when worn for long durations in the back country, it tends to get a funny odor, kind of a rubbery sweaty smell.

I know that you did not want a debate on scent lock, but if you plan on going for several days without creature comforts, Medalist makes awesome base layers with silvermax and skinetics technology. They not only help with scent control to the animal, but greatly enhance the wearability for longer periods of time. the later of which is why I started using Medalist gear.....

base layers can be anything, I'd go for something that's warm when wet though, ie avoid cotton.
