I've heard good things about the coleman's, also......but I bought two of these a coule years ago.....and my son callsthem the "SUN". It's an incredible, small flashlight.....and Frank (Brknarrow) will attest to how bright they are. We used them to track his doe he shot, here, last year.....and it's the best money for tracking I've ever spent.

The batteries last about an hour, continuous...and they can get expensive ($12-15/ea). But I wouldn't start a night track without them, now. I keep 2 of these (and about 6 spare batteries), 2 spotlights, 2 regular flashlights in my tracking kit (a plastic tool box)....along with a roll of TP and a set of 2-way radios.

My wife just bought me a bright LED light with a red light option. I will be interested to see how it performs.

Coleman lantern and a long beamed flash light to check out ahead of the trail. TP as well.
