i am thinking of making the switch to a expandable or mechanical. or something that flies like a field point. maybe a cut on contact

what would you guys recommend. i want to be sure i will get good penetration and good blood trail.

They all can out of the right setup...however, even with mechanicals there is no garuantee they will fly exactly like field points out of every setup....

For Example: I use Rocky Mountain Snypers and Muzzy's. I have them flying together, perfectly.

I had a friend try them that was shooting Muzzy. His Muzzy's flew with his field points, the Snypers went high/right...interesting huh.

Bottom line, no matter what you decide, take one and use it for practice to be sure....get some replacement blades and try each and every one of them to be sure. Use the bad blades for the practice ones and put new in to hunt with.

That way you KNOW.

Tim, I'm shooting the Muzzy 3 blade, 100 grain as well. I've had NO problems with them whatsoever. All my kills have been complete pass-thrus. One shot last year when slam through both shoulder blades on a doe and the arrow still buried 6 inches in the dirt. I'm not switching! Why mess with a good thing?

The only broadhead I know of that totally flies like a field point, in all weather, all conditions, even in a 45 mph hard gust, is a Slick Trick.

Magnus Stingers are a close second, when you align the main blade vertical with the bow string. They too fly like a guided missle.

Believe Rob, you can get virtually any to fly very good. That doesn't neccesarily mean you can mix and match. Practice and hunt with one you can be confident in. If you have trouble with several different heads. Have your bow gone over to make sure everythings aligned properly.

For a fixed blade the Muzzy mx-3's and mx-4's always flew very well for me with virtually no tinkering over field tips.

The best Broadheads I have shot for accuracy are the NAP Crossfires. I can shoot them at 310fps without spintesting them on my arrows. The NAP Nitros fly great as well.

I shoot the Grim Reaper 100gr Razortips, and they seem to work well for me.
