I have shot both and taken deer with both - excellent blood trails on the majority of the deer taken

They are more a one shot broadhead, the blades crinkle once a deer is hit but you can replace - very time consuming

Good broadhead but not worth the trouble unless you have money to buy a new pack often, they do fly true just like a field point

I would use the Sidewinder, thicker blades, better penetration. I have used both on deer and prefer the Sidewinder.

I tried the Rocket brand in 2005 (steelheads, I believe). Durability and penetration were poor. There arelots ofbetter choices.

I used the rockets once...not sure of the brand...they were 3 blade...and I got them at Jays on clearance...All I know is when I released my arrow it went crazy into the sky....I don't know if they make right or left helicle blades or whatever...but it was a bad experience....I'm sure it was a lack of knowledge on my set-up....but I know....

it was not like putting a vortex or a NAP spitfire XP in my hand...can't go wrong....through the air they go....like field points.

The Rocket Steelhead is one of the best mechanical heads on the market. Solid steel design that simply can't be damaged, short blades to reduce bending or breaking and their design assures that they will open regardless. Test after test has proven that they will out penetrate most fixed blade heads on the market and pretty much all mechanicals. If I were to switch back to a mechanical head tomorrow it would be the Steelhead.

Rockets in general are decent to very good heads. The sidewinder and hammerhead are very similar with the sidewinder having a more modest cutting diameter. I would not shoot the sidewinder with under 60 ft/lbs of KE or the hammerhead with a setup shooting less than 65ft/lbs of KE. They are not real durable heads, but they do kill well. provided you have the right setup.
