I have a stand that I MUST be in at least an hour before light. Its right near a path that crosses a creek and comes up the creekbed, up a ridge to 5 huge white oak trees, and a ton of bedding...but its like a mile trek through some messy stuff and I have to come in from the back way. I would definately cross paths with one if I came in up the creek. I would never be able to walk to it from where I have to go in without night vision.
These pins that stick in trees like thumbtacks glow when hit with a flashlight...from like 200 yrds. I have my trail well marked now, so its straight in and up to my stand....without walking in circles!
Theres another product with a keychain fob. You attach the xmitter to the stand and when you get close you push the button on the fob. The xmitter then flashes red led's until you push the button again. I'd get something like that, but I am from IOWA (Idiots Out Wandering Aimlessly).

AF, save your money. I tried that thing, and it eats the batteries even when not in use. So in 2 days the batteries are dead, totally worthless. Unless I had a bad batch, but I tried 2 of them [:'(]
i use the blood trail blaze orange trail markers and i can see them fine but i also could just about walk through the thick woods to my stand in the dark

There good to use for the reason you described but remember if you can see them so can others, and everytime my buddy use's them he gets his stand stolen!! Walt

The easy way in I could walk it with my eyes closed, but to avoid where they are bedding and snacking on the white oak acorns I have to go around my ass to get to my elbow. These are just like a thumb tack that has a reflector on them. These are virgin woods too so I doubt there areany in there already. If I could go the easy way I would, but it would kill the hunt. The hard way is like a mile through hardwoods, briars, creeks and holleys. I figured for 3 bucks they would lead the way so I wouldnt be walking in circles trying to find mystand. Thanks for the input. I was hoping that I wouldnt be reading that they suck and I wasted my lunch money.
Nope you can see those babies for a mile!!!! When my buddy uses them now he usally wont put the first one out till he gets back in there a ways from the edge of the woods.. Walt
