Default Using laydown duck blinds to bowhunt.....

I know this probably seems a little abnormal, but has anyone ever used a laydown duck blind to bowhunt? After being worn out hunting day after day setting up in the trees, or setting up a ground blind, this thing seems pretty comfortable looking. Just sit up, pull up your bow and take the shot! I might try this out.

Unless the deer are hoping from tree to tree,I don't see how that would work

You could shoot from a sitting up position.

I've got one (layout blind)....but I've never thought of using it to deer hunt.

But you tell me......You think your heart wouldn't be pumpin?[8D][&:]

I'm gonna think about it..........I'll tell ya that. I don't know if I could open it (stealth is not all that big of a concern when hunting waterfowl at the time of popping up) without spooking a deer.

Have you ever used one?

IMHO by the time you threw the doors open and sat up there would be no deer to draw back on.

The thing would quiet the leaves below you as you attempted to come to the kneeling position or just sitting position. I have enough confidence in my ability to make subtle movements on deer that I believe I could make the shot if it presented itself. I would have to set the blind up with a large tree to my left or right so that I may get into position for the shot...either that or put some deadfalls around the blind. I think my heart would be pumping a mile a minute plus the set up with the thing would be extremely quiet in bedding area.....maybe just put it parallel to a large laydown....just thinking aloud.

Never thought of using one before, but I have made a pit blind to shoot up and out of. Worked pretty well the one time I used it.
You know if you leave the doors open on that thing it would simplify things a little bit.....maybe.

I'd fall to sleep and wouldn't see a dang thing.

I couldn't imagine trying to get in an upright position with my bow in hand with out the deer seeing me and then draw and make the shot.
