Got my first hog last night. 25 yard shot through both lungs. I poked him with a 400 gr arrow with a Magnus Stinger 4-blade. Complete pass through. He bled well at first but like most hogs (I've been told) reduced to a drip here and a drip there. He ran about 100 yards and died in some thick palmetto scrub. My buddy who was hunting for the first time shot a hog 10 minutes later with my Model 94. Both hogs weighed 225 lbs.
Side note: Their was another guy hunting that night who hit a smaller hog with a light arrow and a Rage 2-blade. The thing bled pretty good at first but the blood again tapered off to nothing. He never recovered it. I'm sure this was probably a poorly placed shot, but it is a good reminder that even a 2" cutting width in no substitute for a well placed shot. Now for the pics!
