Default Maximum Archery... Kodiak charges...

Well as I'm packing to go to the cabin for a week I have the TV on in the back ground! The OC is on and its Maximum Achery, with Andy Ross, I'm assuming from Ross archery?? Anyway there hunting brown bears with a bow on Kodiak Island! The guide has a backup gun, good thing! He was full draw on the bear with no shot and then Brownie charged them and needed to be shot by the guide at about 6-7 yards! There was all kinds of commotion going on with a girl kinda screaming a bunch of gun shots! Talk about a rush and having a smart guide! That big beast surely would of done some damage!

Did anyone see this show??

It was a shame he had to use his tag on that bear.

He was so close to letting that arrow fly.

Would have loved to see it...I just finished reading a book about various grizzly attacks in the last few decades. Very interesting read.

What I dont get is why Andy was at full draw and let down as the bear was charging. Im not knocking him or anything. I will say this, regardless of what weapon I am using while bear hunting if Im getting charged that weapon is gonna get used.

I think he was waiting for a clean shot, then it charged, it looked like it came up over a small rise or something! That beast was close so I'm sure he was a bit fired up at all the action! I'm sure the video camera had a little something to do with it as well! I'm with you though, I'm shooting if something is charging me and I'm not waiting for a broadside shot!
