Default a dummy in the stand

what do you guys think about using a dummy in a stand when your not there

I thought about taking some cheap wal mart camo and straw or something making a dummy to have in the stand when i am not in it might help keep other hunters away when i am not there aswell.

I've read about it before and the hunter that used it said it worked for him.

The idea is to have the element of surprise, that's not exactly a surprise. Not to mention, what would you do with the dummy when you want to hunt? Lower him to the ground?

i have used that trick before on a old doe that would bust me every time. she would come in around fifty yards look up snort and walk off, i strapped a manikin up there let it sit for a week and shot her the next weekend.

if you lowered him to the ground wouldnt that kind of defeat the purpose, because then theres something on the ground that was never there before. then instead of the deer busting YOU, theyre busting your dummy.
