Default TESTED bohning vs. accunock & Blazer Vanes vs. FOB

Ok, my buddy and I did a little testing last night at the backyard range as he is always trying new things and setups. Our first test was to try and findany noticable differences between the standard Bohning Signature nocks and the Accunock. There were about 10 groups of three fired from each representing nock and in almost every side by side firing from 30-50 yards the bohning groups were tighter, higher, and quieter. At 50 yards the Bohning nocks averaged about a 1-1/2 higher impact than the Accu Nock. Towards the endwe think there might have been a possibility that the wider Accu Nock was maybe getting pinched a little so on the second round of testing in days to follow we will pay close attention to the d-loop but regardless my overall impression was better of the Bohning nock in every respect.

Then we tested the blazer vanes against the FOB again shooting about 10 groups of three at 30, 40, and 50 yards. All groups were shot side by side with identical arrows (easton axis n-fused). The first thing we noticed is the FOB seemed to be louder coming off of the bow. We checked clearance multiple times and the ripcord seemed to be dropping plenty fast but there was a slight noise increase when using the FOB. As far as the groups and trajectory are concerned the blazer groups were all around tighter and higher then the FOB, in fact at 50 yards the point of impact was about 5 inches lower using the FOB's. In discussion after the shooting we did note that by using the FOB we added 10 grains to the end of the arrow and we will have to figure out how that changes the FOC. All in all the only thing that we liked better about he FOB was the ability to see it in flight. There will be many more tests over the following week (including chrono)and I would love to hear any suggestions as to specific tests or things to pay attention to.

P.S Something else we noticed when comparing the FOB and Blazers is no matter where we shot into the fairly new target the Blazers had more penetration then the FOB (by about 2.5 inches), and we shot into "virgin" areas. I know this is not a true scale of energy or speed but it was very consistent and worth noting.

Try comparing the bohning vanes to the FOB in high cross winds.

I havent shot these things, but i hear thats where the FOBs really shine
